The Entrance Medical Centre is a mixed billing practice.
Consultation times
Our normal consultation times are 15 minutes.
Longer consultation times are available for complex health problems or counselling for emotional difficulties. Please inform the receptionist if you require extra time.
Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and doctor.

Monday 8:00am – 6:00pm
Tuesday 8:00am – 6:00pm
Wednesday 8:00am – 6:00pm
Thursday 8:00am – 7:00pm
Friday 8:00am – 6:00pm
Saturday 8:30am – 12 noon
Sunday – Closed
Practice fees
The Entrance Medical Centre is a mixed billing practice. We privately bill for:
- Private patient consultations
- Workers Compensation
- Third Party and Commercial Drivers Medicals.
Most medico-legal fees such as medical reports, pre-employment medicals and driving medicals will attract GST.
Some of our Doctors privately bill their patient’s on concession cards with a small out of pocket fee. We can send your payment online to Medicare for your electronic refund. Patients without concession cards will be billed a private fee with a claimable rebate from Medicare.
Fee schedule:
$70.00 for a standard 15 minute consultation (Medicare rebate of $37.05)
Longer appointments are $110.00 (Medicare rebate fee of $71.70)
Payment at time of consultation is required.
Please ask our staff for a list of all fees.
Overseas Patients
Overseas patients will be privately billed and will need to claim through their travel insurance.
Newborn Babies
Newborn babies that have not yet been registered with Medicare number will need to pay the full private consultation amount – But don’t worry, you can claim back from Medicare upon registration.
Our policy on cancellation
Please allow 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel an appointment, so that we can accommodate other patients.
Bulk Billing 
You are eligible for “Bulk Billing” if you currently hold a valid:
- Pension Card
- Health Care Card
- Seniors Health Card
- Department of Veterans Affairs Card
- or are a Child under 16 years of age.
Cards are required to be shown on each visit.
Overseas patients will need to pay for their consultation on the day of their visit.
Patients without concession cards
Patients without concession cards will be billed a private fee with a claimable rebate from Medicare.
Payment options
Fees are payable at the time of consultation, by cash, cheque, and EFTPOS, MasterCard or Visa.
Medicare online rebates
Claim your medicare rebates after your doctor’s appointment via electronic claiming at our offices and it will go straight into your bank account.
To submit a Medicare rebate claim online, you must be registered, have your Medicare card and your doctor’s account – Find out more here or ask one of our friendly reception team for more information.
Results, referrals and prescriptions
Our doctors prefer to see all our patients – Please book an appointment when:
- Your prescriptions and annual referrals are due for renewal
- If your prescription runs out please inform our receptionists, we’ll accommodate you with the next appointment available
- All our doctors have access to your file, so if your doctor isn’t available another of our team’s doctors will be able to renew your prescription
- Following up test results tests with your doctor – Please make an appointment on the day of your consultation unless advised by your doctor
- If your results are urgent, you will be contacted by the practice.
If you are unable to collect your prescriptions please provide a signed consent form to keep on your file so a friend or relative can collect them.
